Before you buy

The right hinge sensor.
LidFX needs macOS Sonoma 14 or newer and an Apple-silicon MacBook with a compatible lid-angle sensor.
Not every MacBook exposes this sensor. The current prototype has been tested on an M4 MacBook Air. A broader compatibility list is still being verified.
Screen Recording permission is required for the live effect. Desktop frames are processed on your Mac, not uploaded or saved by LidFX.

Does it get in the way while I work?
No persistent preview sits over your desktop. The effect is triggered by closing movement and clears as the movement settles. You can pause it from the menu bar.
Can I try it before buying?
The public trial policy is not final. Before launch, this page will include a compatibility check and the final purchase terms.
Is the app notarized by Apple?
Not currently. LidFX is independently developed and the development build is not signed with an Apple Developer ID or notarized by Apple. macOS may block its first launch. Installation requirements will be clearly stated before any purchase; public downloads are not available yet.
How will updates work?
We are integrating Sparkle for signed in-app updates. Once releases are available, LidFX will offer a daily update check and a manual Check for Updates command.
Where will my licence arrive?
The planned purchase flow will deliver access to your licence and download by email. Checkout and email delivery are not live yet.
Is this Bendy?
No. LidFX is an independent utility with its own code and branding. It is not affiliated with Bendy or Apple.
